Welcome to our Tiny Zoo!
We need to set up a monitor for our goats. We have at least 1 goat that is pregnant. Her name is Mocha. We think Latte might be pregnant too. Since we can’t hear the goats from our house we need to set up some sort of a monitoring system that will allow us to be able to observe them from the house so we will know when they go into labor. I thought it might be fun to set up a “Goat Cam” so our friends and other people can watch too. Maybe you could help us keep an eye on them! We had a chick-cam about 3 years ago (until the camera fell on the heat lamp and melted) so we’ve done this before, but we have additional challenges this time. Namely, there is no wi-fi in the barn. So we’re trying to get all the back-end details set up now while we figure out the logistical issues with technology to get the webcam set up in the barn.
Mocha is already in her own private stall. She is not happy there, she wants to be out with her friends. But it is better for her to be in the stall by herself so that when she goes into labor, the other goats won’t bother her or trample the baby. It also helps us be able to get in there and help her if she gets into trouble. We’ve bought enough equipment to stock a hospital room in anticipation of the delivery of these baby goats. Hopefully we’ve got everything now!
